About this collection

The new collection by Serezha Galkin exists at the intersection of minimalism and escapism, offering a visual meditation on the concepts of “presence” and “evidence of existence.” Through a deliberately essential formal language, this series departs from the layered complexity that characterized the artist’s previous works, embracing a rarefied visual narrative where emptiness and absence take center stage.

The depicted scenes, landscapes and spaces that are empty or nearly deserted, act as reflective surfaces, evoking what once was or what could have been. Through carefully calibrated compositions and a conscious use of detail, the artist constructs a dialogue between the visible and the implied. Each image invites the viewer to linger on subtle signs, small but significant traces that testify to a past presence or a potential future.

This collection stands out for its rejection of visual excess, positioning itself in stark contrast to the hyper-detailed aesthetics that dominate much of today’s artistic production. While hyperrealist or digitally saturated imagery tends to overwhelm the viewer with stimuli, the works in this series reduce the perceptual field, creating spaces where visual silence becomes a means of amplifying meaning.

The landscapes, despite their apparent simplicity, are far from neutral: they contain clues, minute details that emerge slowly, almost like fragments of a forgotten story. A slightly ajar door, a faint shadow, a trace on the ground, these elements present themselves as silent witnesses, inviting the viewer into a contemplative experience, far removed from the frenzy of visual consumption.

This collection explores the paradox of presence through absence. Each work reflects on visual memory and imagination. In the absence of human figures or explicit narrative elements, the viewer is called to reconstruct a story, filling the voids with their own sensitivity. The traces left behind, intentionally ambiguous and elusive, serve as testimonies of an existence that is never entirely erased but persists in subtle, almost imperceptible forms.

This dialectic is further reinforced by the artist’s chromatic approach. The color palette, often soft and delicate, emphasizes the suspended atmosphere of the works. In some pieces, richer tones emerge, creating a visual counterpoint that recalls fragments of a more vivid reality, now fading.

This project serves as an invitation to slow down and reevaluate our relationship with time and space. In an era dominated by speed and overabundance, Serezha offers an experience of slow and meditative viewing. The works, far from being mere visual objects, present themselves as spaces for reflection where visitors can lose themselves, exploring what is visible and allowing themselves to be questioned by what remains hidden.

Ultimately, this collection is not just a celebration of the essential but also an affirmation of art’s ability to evoke the unspeakable, to transform absence into a tangible presence. Serezha’s works inhabit a liminal space, between memory and imagination, between the visible and the invisible, offering a poetics of emptiness that speaks to the core of the human condition.

I'm Serezha aka graphica.png, consider me the juxtapozer of uncanny ideas. Studied Illustration and Graphic Design. I started learning about art and have been pursuing it for about 15 years, focusing mostly on painting and drawing by hand while also keeping up with new art-related technology as it came out. My latest venture has been into AI, collaborating to create overpainting and collages while finding inspiration both in hard and soft elements. Currently pursuing my destiny to make things lil' less perfect and lil' more interesting, a mission is to find something fascinating in the mundane.

Spectrum of inspiration and interest is minimalistic glitch together with digital neo-impressionism and avant-garde. I love characters and combine both drawn and generated elements in my work. I consider myself a regular boredom slayer and mostly make art about the little things I notice or feel along the way. I'm especially interested in NFT art as a source of historical record. Technology allows us to capture moments in time, and I believe that art should be part of the innovative Rosetta Stone. I strongly believe in the importance of building your process and the outcome is the pleasant experiment. I'm trying to unveil some of my deep thoughts and see something good around me, giving hope for a better future. My work is a reflection of a reality or a submersion into a created world. A world created through multiple distortions, showcasing AI baldness which is also sometimes very intricate and fragile commentary on reality, something that I would love everyone to accept, partially relate and see themselves in my imagining and distorted mirrors or you could say my artistic lens.
